Wayde Friez

Wayde Friez is the current CFO at Bader Scott Injury Lawyers. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Finance and Accounting at Brad Cole Construction Company from January 2019 to April 2020.

At Brad Cole Construction Company, Wayde was responsible for corporate finance, cash management and treasury, accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, federal and state tax, payroll, and special compliance matters. Wayde was also the top executive with direct responsibility to corporate parent for reporting of all financial results on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, as well as overall compliance related to consolidation requirements and intercompany reporting.

During their time at Brad Cole Construction Company, Wayde made a number of major accomplishments, including filling a vacant position within three months and quickly fixing broken workflows, processes, and operating procedures between corporate finance, accounting, and field operations. Wayde also brought compliance up to date concerning state income tax and apportionment, sales and use tax, contractor licenses and other special business requirements for a seven-state region. Additionally, they managed cash flow and the central treasury account with the parent company to reduce debt from $15M to under $3M, and they cut interest expense by $40K per month.

Other accomplishments include developing “centers of excellence” for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions; mandating cross-training priorities between these functions to mitigate risk and disruption of work due to personnel changes and/or vacancies; revamping internal controls and fraud/audit risk exposure for treasury and accounting functions including payments in excess of certain threshold material amounts; implementing a cap ex policy and review for all purchases in excess of an expense limit; building internal consolidation reporting for a newly incorporated subsidiary doing business as an MBE; and reducing days sales outstanding from over 60 to under 30.

Wayde Friez has a Doctor of Law (JD) from Oral Roberts University, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Montana, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Montana.
