Kalyan Vaidyanathan is a Senior Principal Research Scientist at BAE Systems, Inc. since January 2017, specializing in autonomy and AI/ML at BAE FAST Labs. Previously, Kalyan served as a Machine Learning Engineer/Architect, leading machine learning strategy, R&D projects in geospatial data analytics, NLP, deep learning for imagery, and cybersecurity, and designing ML/DL courses for engineers. Prior to BAE Systems, Kalyan was a Principal Engineer at Oracle Corporation from 2010 to 2016, focusing on machine learning and predictive analytics for servers and data centers, and fostering external research collaborations with universities. Kalyan's career began at Sun Microsystems from 2002 to 2010 as a Staff Engineer, engaged in system telemetry and prognostic tools development. Kalyan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University.
