Melissa Langer

Melissa Langer has a diverse and extensive work experience in scientific research and development. Melissa worked as a Scientist III at Baebies, where they developed various immunoassays, enzymatic assays, and molecular assays. Melissa was also involved in the optimization of assays using nanoparticles and was a first-name author on a patent-pending method to diagnose mucopolysaccharidosis. Melissa was also part of a team that developed a chip-based assay capable of performing PCR in 15 minutes.

Before their role at Baebies, Melissa worked as a Research Associate at KBI Biopharma, where they were involved in the analytical development of assays for biopharma companies. Their responsibilities included working with HPLC, ELISAs, and other assays related to drug development.

Prior to that, Melissa worked as a Product Development Scientist at Advanced Animal Diagnostics. Melissa played a significant role in the development and manufacturing of a patented lateral flow assay. Their work involved designing the format of the assay, optimizing materials and reagents, and ensuring the stability of the test line material.

Melissa's earlier experiences include being an Undergraduate Research Intern at the University of Oxford, where they characterized metabolic and structural protein expression in stem cells, and at Cal Poly Pomona, where they independently designed and evaluated an assay to study the adherence of bacteria to surfaces.
