Senior Principal Software Engineer at Baffle

Manickam Appuraj has worked in the software engineering industry since 2006. Manickam began their career at OnMobile Global Limited as a Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented features such as configurable parameters in ISUP messages from application, missed call alerts, blind call transfer, release with redirect, and maintenance and monitoring utility. Manickam then progressed to Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented support for video calls on 3G technologies using 3G-324M technology.

In 2011, Manickam Appuraj began working as a Graduate Student at the University of Texas at Dallas. There, they worked on a mobile application (location based reminders) for Android, and developed a multicast network tree for data broadcast with nodes joining dynamically and tree optimization without data loss using UDP broadcast and TCP connection management.

In 2012, Manickam Appuraj took on an internship at BNSF Railway as an Application Development Support, where they developed a real-time optimization based approach to generate work-event plans for trains.

In 2013, Manickam Appuraj worked at Cerner Corporation as a Velocity Software Engineer, and at SuperHappyFunFun, Inc. as a Server Engineering Lead and Senior Server Engineer. At SuperHappyFunFun, Inc., they provided end-to-end leadership of projects from requirements definition to deployment, along with issue and risk management, assessed, recommended, built and integrated with best-of-breed, off-the-shelf commercial and open-source software components, and recommended engineering best practices.

In 2018, Manickam Appuraj began working at Baffle, Inc. as a Senior Principal Software Engineer and Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they provided end-to-end leadership of projects from requirements definition to deployment, along with issue and risk management, researched and developed security products for databases, and recommended engineering best practices, including use of code reviews and automated testing.

Manickam Appuraj obtained a BE in Electronics & Communication Engineering from PSG College of Technology and Anna University between 2002 and 2006. Manickam then went on to obtain an MS in Computer Science (Networks) from The University of Texas at Dallas between 2011 and 2013.
