Ronald Mao

Director of Carrier Solutions at BaiCells Technologies

Ronald Mao has worked in the telecommunications industry since 1997. Ronald began their career at Lucent Technologies as a Member of Technical Staff. Ronald then moved to Onix Microsystems where they worked as an Embedded Software Engineer. In 2001, they joined Ericsson as a Senior System Engineer. After four years, they moved to Futurewei Technologies, Inc. where they served as a Senior Staff Engineer. During their time there, they established Futurewei as a leader at IEEE 802.16 and WiMAX Forum and won an "Appreciation Award for Significant Contributions" for their leadership in chairing radio, IP core, and service task groups. In 2011, they joined Huawei as an Executive Product Manager and then in 2018, they became the Director of Carrier Solutions at Baicells Technologies. In this role, they generated sales in mobile carrier, fixed wireless, and enterprise connectivity markets by designing LTE, 5G, and OpenRAN solutions with small cell, distributed base station, end user device, and cloud core products. Ronald also won a Tier 1 wireless network carrier vendor selection with small cell solutions for network densification. Additionally, they drove profitability growth as OEM/ODM by partnering with private 5G/LTE network operators in enterprise and vertical applications.

Ronald Mao has a Master of Science in Computer Science from DePaul University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics.
