Alan Crain serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal & Governance Officer at Baker Hughes since 2000, overseeing global responsibilities in legal, government relations, risk management, compliance, security, and insurance. Crain previously held the position of Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Crown Holdings, Inc. (1999-2000) and served as Vice President and General Counsel at Union Texas Petroleum Holding, Inc. (1988-1998), where responsibilities included worldwide legal governance. From 1981 to 1988, Crain was Senior Legal Counsel at Pennzoil, focusing on international legal issues and intellectual property matters. Earlier in their career, Crain was Principal Counsel at El Paso Company (1976-1981), dealing with legal aspects of liquefied natural gas trade. Alan Crain earned an M.B.A. in Law from Syracuse University and a Master’s Degree in Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
