Darren Knipp

President & Chief Executive Officer at Balance Innovations

Darren Knipp has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Darren began their career serving in various engineering positions within the USAF, working on satellite programs. During their time in the USAF, they attended the Squadron Officer School and was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate.

Following their military service, Darren joined Boeing as the General Manager of the Silicon Valley Lab. In this role, they oversaw the development lab, secured new business, hired developers, and worked on early XML projects.

Darren then joined Interwoven, Inc as the Group Product Manager. Here, they played a key role in defining the product direction for Interwoven's flagship web content management product, focusing on integration with web application and portal servers.

After their time at Interwoven, Darren joined Perceptive Software, a Lexmark Company, where they held various positions including Director of Product Management, VP of Product Management, and eventually COO. As the COO, they provided strategic and operational leadership for Perceptive's worldwide sales, professional services, product support, business development, and cloud services.

Most recently, Darren served as the President & CEO of Balance Innovations, a company that offers enterprise currency management software for retailers. In this role, they facilitated the seamless integration of the software platform with existing devices and systems, providing retailers with actionable data and analytics to reduce the cost of accepting cash while enhancing the in-store shopping experience.

Throughout their career, Darren has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and a track record of driving innovation and growth within the companies they have worked for.

Darren Knipp obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering at The University of Kansas, completing their studies from 1990 to 1992.
