Michel Gauer

Michel Gauer is the co-founder, CEO and investment manager at Balance Re, a reinsurance company. Michel has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, working in fixed income derivatives and quantitative investment strategies.

Michel started their career as a sales assistant at Merrill Lynch in 1999. Michel then moved to Ixis CIB / CDC Ixis / CDC Marches, where they worked in fixed income for six years. In 2005, they joined Bear Stearns / J.P. Morgan, again working in fixed income derivatives. Michel left Bear Stearns / J.P. Morgan in 2008 to join BNP Paribas as co-head of quantitative investment strategies.

Michel has a deep understanding of the financial industry and capital markets. Michel is a skilled investor and risk manager, with a proven track record in generating returns for their clients.

After completing a Master of Science in Finance at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL, Michel Gauer went on to earn a Master of Science in Betriebswirtschaft at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business).
