Alex Fleurant

Alex Fleurant, CPA, has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting. Starting in 2014, Alex worked at HSBC as a Business Performance Analyst, where they were involved in project change management and asset management. In 2015, Alex joined KPMG Canada as an Accountant/Consultant for a short period. From 2017 to 2021, Alex worked at VEERUM, initially as Strategy & Financial Operations, and later as a Senior Client Executive. During this time, they successfully raised over $2 million in non-dilutive grants and supported fundraising efforts of $3.9 million from Silicon Valley investors. Alex also migrated accounting functions from Excel to Quickbooks and implemented outsourcing and automation. Currently, Alex is the Chief Financial Officer at Baldface Lodge, starting in October 2022, after working as the Financial Controller for the same company from October 2021 to October 2022.

Alex Fleurant, CPA has a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) degree in Accounting with distinction from the University of Calgary, which they obtained from 2013 to 2017. In 2018, they completed an Accelerator program in entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation at the European Innovation Academy. Additionally, in 2016, they studied innovation management, communications management, and digital media analysis at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Alex Fleurant has also obtained certifications including Non-Urban Emergency Care / OFA Level 3 from Peak Emergency Response Training in 2022 and Chartered Professional Accountant designation from CPA Canada in 2020.
