Regional Project Director at Balfour Beatty Communities

Ted Read has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ted started their career in 2001 as a Transformation Chief and Instructor at the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they played a role in transforming the Engineer Captain Career Course and modernizing the school's classroom. From 2005 to 2008, they served in various roles in the US Army, including as the Infrastructure Coordination Element Chief and Executive Officer of the Brigade Special Troops Battalion.

In 2008, Ted joined HQ Allied Rapid Reaction Corps as an Engineer Planner, responsible for coordinating and managing an organizational move from Germany to the United Kingdom. During their time there, they also recruited top NGO and international nonprofit leaders, developed a flexible response team, and established long-lasting cooperative organizational relationships.

From 2010 to 2012, Ted worked for ISAF as the Executive Officer and Chief of Staff to a United Kingdom Brigadier. In this role, they provided executive support and ensured smooth operations.

In 2012, Ted transitioned to a role at the US Army at Missouri University of Science and Technology, where they served as the Department Chair until 2015.

Most recently, Ted has been working at Balfour Beatty Communities since 2018. Ted began as a Project Director and later moved up to the position of Regional Project Director, responsible for building partnerships and improving resident experiences in the Air Force Portfolio's Northern and Western Groups.

Ted Read holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Webster University, which they obtained from 2001 to 2005. Ted also has a degree in Geography and Cartography from Northwest Missouri State University, where they studied from 1986 to 1991. Additionally, they completed upper-level management training in the US Army at the US Army Command General Staff College in 2004-2005. Ted Read has further certifications as an Accredited Interscholastic Coach (Track and Field Level 1) from the National Federation of State High School Associations, obtained in 2016. Ted also holds a certification as a Military Instructor.
