Shaun Chew

Shaun Chew is a dedicated medical professional currently serving as a Surgical Resident at St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and as a Junior Doctor at Grampians Health. With a background as a Frontline Worker at The Royal Melbourne Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, Shaun developed valuable skills in patient care and testing. Notably, Shaun founded the Melbourne University Gastrointestinal Society, overseeing its operations and fostering stakeholder relationships. As the Director of Research for AMSA International (Australia), Shaun organized international research competitions and workshops to enhance research skills for medical students. Educationally, Shaun earned a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy from the University of Melbourne, in addition to contributing as a Student Peer Mentor, Academic Tutor, and Anatomy Demonstrator. Shaun's experience includes observing liver transplants and performing roles in COVID vaccination efforts.
