Cory Buyan

Cory Buyan has a diverse work experience in the field of IT. Cory currently works at Ballard Power Systems as a Team Lead and Business Technology expert, where they are responsible for developing strategic technical visions and providing solutions. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Solution Architect at the same company, where their responsibilities included analyzing technology environments, documenting requirements, and participating in technology selection. Cory also served as an IT Projects and Oracle Cloud Administrator, managing and administering the Oracle Service Cloud system and handling specific projects aligned with business needs. Before joining Ballard Power Systems, Cory worked as an IT Helpdesk Analyst and Onsite Services provider, where they provided IT technical support, onboarded and offboarded employees, and configured devices for corporate use. Additionally, they have experience working at companies such as Sizmek, SunPower Corporation, and TAO Corporation in various IT roles. Cory is currently working at Lyceum of the Philippines University as a BSIT ETEEAP Assessor and an Information Technology Special Lecturer.

Cory Buyan, MIS, PMP has a diverse education history. In 2009, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Holy Name University. Cory continued their education at Asia Pacific College, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology, specializing in Computer Network, from 2010 to 2014. In 2015, Cory pursued a Master's degree in Information Systems at Asia Pacific College, which they completed in 2017.

After their Master's degree, Cory further expanded their knowledge by enrolling at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2018 and 2019. Although the degree obtained during this time is not specified, their focus was on Applied Network Administration and Design.

Cory's educational journey culminated at the Technological Institute of Philippines, where they pursued a Doctor's Degree in Information Technology from 2022 to 2025.

In addition to their extensive educational background, Cory has obtained several certifications. In 2013, they achieved the Microsoft Technology Associate: Security Fundamentals (MTA) certification from Microsoft. The same year, they also earned the IBM DB2 Academic Associate certification from IBM. Most notably, in August 2023, Cory obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute, showcasing their expertise in project management.
