Dave Mertens

Dave Mertens is currently the Partner and Head of Business Development of Ballast Equity Management. Dave has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, starting their career at Berger Financial Group LLC in 1995. In their time at Berger, Dave built and led the institutional and intermediary sales, marketing, and client service teams before the company merged with Janus Capital Group in 2002. After Janus, Dave spent 15 years at Jensen Investment Management where they set strategy and led sales, marketing, and client servicing efforts before moving to Ballast in 2017. Dave's experience and success in the financial industry has made him a valuable asset to Ballast Equity Management.

Dave Mertens has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Marylhurst University in the field of Business Administration and Management. Dave also has a B.S. from Ball State University in Telecommunications, with a Minor in Marketing, as well as a degree in Journalism from Valparaiso University.
