Eli Ruffer has a diverse work experience. In 2014, they worked as a Student Researcher at Radiation Oncology Consultants Limited, where they collaborated with three radiation oncologists to draw conclusions from data gathered from patient treatment plans and doctor's notes. In 2015, they were a Summer Research Intern at the University of Illinois at Chicago Toxicology Research Lab, where they helped scientists grow cell cultures and perform analysis. In 2016, they were a Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates Student Intern at the University of Kentucky, where they made and analyzed amorphous solid dispersions. In 2017, they worked as a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician at Applied Membrane Technology, Inc. In 2019, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at Keck Biophysics Facility, where they performed routine laboratory maintenance and helped users troubleshoot any issues. In 2020, they were a Features Contributor at The Onion, where they wrote and submitted 3-5 original jokes each day for the Onion's American Voices and Infographics articles. Eli also worked as a Project Manager at BallotReady, where they built, customized, and QA customer websites. In 2021, they became a Freelance Copywriter at Captain, where they contributed copy to gocaptain.com and wrote copy for marketing emails. Additionally, they created 'I Am Eli's Comedy Newsletter' in June 2018, which has grown to 90 devoted followers and spawned a 28-page book.
