Umer Khan is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in quantitative research and technology within the asset management sector. Since April 2021, Umer has served as the Head of Quantitative Research & Tech at Balyasny Asset Management L.P., focusing on credit, convertible bonds, and systematic strategies. Prior to this role, Umer held the position of Head of Credit Quantitative Research at Citadel from April 2019 to March 2021, and has also worked at Barclays Capital for nearly a decade as the Head of Flow & Structured Credit Strats. Other positions include Quantitative Analyst at Brevan Howard and Commerzbank AG. Umer has pursued advanced education in the field, holding a Post-graduate Diploma in Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence from Columbia University, and working towards an incomplete PhD in Quantitative Finance at Imperial College London, following a Master of Science in Mathematical Trading & Computational Finance from Cass Business School.
