Dr. Bernd Bayerlein

Dr. Bernd Bayerlein is currently a scientist at Plattform MaterialDigital since August 2020 and has been a scientific employee at Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung since December 2017. Prior to these roles, Dr. Bayerlein was a doctoral candidate at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces from August 2012 to February 2016, where the focus was on studying the role of organic interfaces in the formation and mechanical performance of the prismatic layer of the bivalve shell Pinna nobilis. Dr. Bayerlein earned a doctorate in engineering sciences with a specialization in materials science from Technische Universität Berlin between 2012 and 2016 and completed a diploma thesis at RWTH Aachen University.
