Erik Dunteman

Founder at Banana

Erik Dunteman has a diverse work experience, beginning with an Undergraduate Research Assistant position at Iowa State University in 2015. In 2016, they worked as a Product Design Engineer at Danfoss Power Solutions, where they wrote MATLAB code to analyze time-series data from motor performance tests and reviewed mechanical designs for dimensional tolerance risk. In 2017, Erik held two positions: Process Design Engineer at Encapsys, where they built predictive software in VBA to inform the scaleup of new formulations from lab to production, and Founder at Wyaxis, where they built core mechanical components with Arduino, C++, and stepper motors and designed a CAD virtual prototype. In 2018, Erik founded Vectr Bio, a machine learning product focused on predictive plant genetics, where they trained and deployed machine learning models to align raw DNA reads to a genomic scaffold and developed UI and Backend in Django python framework. Finally, in 2019 and 2021, Erik founded Booste and Banana, respectively.

Erik Dunteman graduated from Iowa State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. 🍌 then went on to pursue a second Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, which they completed in 2018.
