Aap Phil Garcia

Phil Garcia has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and financial services. Phil is currently serving as the SVP / Chief Enterprise Architect at Banc of California since March 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of SVP / Director of IT Operations at the same company starting from October 2021.

Before joining Banc of California, Phil Garcia held prominent roles at Pacific Mercantile Bank. Phil served as the EVP/Chief Information Officer from January 2002 to March 2020, responsible for shaping and implementing the organization's technology and operational vision and corporate strategy. Phil also developed and executed the overall system architecture during their tenure.

Prior to their tenure at Pacific Mercantile Bank, Phil Garcia worked at eFunds Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer. Phil was responsible for architecting and software development of electronic funds transfer (EFT) systems, demonstrating strong skills in database data modeling, algorithm building, and problem-solving. Phil worked at eFunds Corporation from May 1993 to December 2001.

Phil Garcia completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Chapman University, which they attended from 1992 to 1996. In addition to their degree, they hold the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification, obtained from (ISC)² in February 2017. Phil also holds the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification, obtained from NACHA - The Electronic Payments Association in September 2002.
