Shiva Kumar

Shiva Kumar has extensive experience in the business and healthcare sectors. Shiva began their career as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Yale University Careers from 1987 to 1997. In 1997, they joined McKinsey & Company as an Associate Partner, Engagement Manager and Associate, where they collaborated with clients to drive long- and short-term profit growth. In 2003, they joined IBM as Vice President Corporate Strategy, Vice President, Enterprise Performance and Industry Analytics, and Vice President, Business Performance Initiatives and Strategy. Shiva developed and executed innovative strategies to grow IBM's Software and Services businesses, and led research organization of ~200 scientists to pioneer use of analytics and artificial intelligence to transform several industries and domains. In 2021, they were appointed Director at Banjo Health, where they defined vision, strategy, and business design to create a new billion-dollar business unit that is a market leader in Artificial Intelligence.

Shiva Kumar completed their Ph.D. in Physics from Yale University, followed by a Master of Science (MSc) in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. In 1997, they completed a Mini-MBA from McKinsey & Company. Additionally, they obtained the certification for The Six Morning Habits of High Performers from LinkedIn in May 2020.
