Judith Downes

Judith joined our board as an independent non-executive director in March 2012 and was appointed chair in March 2014.

Judith has worked in senior executive and non-executive roles in banking, finance, accounting, funds management, life insurance and property, and has over 25 years’ experience as a company director.

Previously, she worked in senior executive and non-executive roles at ANZ for 12 years, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer Institutional Division and Group General Manager Finance. Other past positions include Director, ING Australia, Director, Australian Mathematical Science Institute and member, Financial Reporting Council. Prior to working as an accountant, Judith taught secondary mathematics.

Judith is the immediate past Chair of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values Governing Board Forum and currently a Non-Executive Director for Clean TeQ Holdings Limited, ImpediMed Limited and The Spinal Research Institute.
