Alexis Corbett

MD & Chief Human Resources Officer at Bank of Canada

Alexis Corbett was appointed Managing Director of the Human Resources Department (HR) in February 2014. In this capacity, she is responsible for providing Bank of Canada employees and pensioners with quality HR services from the point of hire through career cycles and changing needs, as well as partnering with managers to attract, engage and retain quality staff.

Born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Ms. Corbett has a master’s degree in business administration from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Western Ontario. She is a graduate of the Advanced Program in Human Resources Management from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and has held her Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation since July 2001.

Ms. Corbett worked for more than 15 years in Human Resources for Canada Post Corporation, occupying positions of increasing responsibility, including Director of Corporate Learning and Development, Director of Corporate Recruitment Strategy, Director, HR Business Partner and Director of HR for the Huron-Rideau region. She joined the Bank in 2011 as Director of HR when HR was a business line within the Corporate Services Department (CS). She held this position until a restructuring created HR as a separate department in 2014, at which time she was named Managing Director.
