Calista Cheung

Calista Cheung serves as the Director of the Survey and Economic Intelligence Division at the Bank of Canada since September 2025. Prior experience includes a role as Manager of Research and Analytics at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand from February 2024 to September 2025, and a Regional Director position for BC/Yukon at the Bank of Canada from June 2014 to February 2024, where responsibilities included directing economic research, managing stakeholder engagement, and advising executive leadership on regional economic issues. Cheung's earlier experience includes a Senior Economist role at the OECD, where extensive research was conducted on public policies, and positions at the Bank of Canada, European Central Bank, and Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, a Master of Arts in Economics from Boston University, and an International Baccalaureate from Chinese International School, Hong Kong.
