Sahar Nezami

Sahar Nezami is the Senior Director of Corporate Services at the Bank of Canada. Sahar has over 9 years of experience in the financial services industry, including their previous role as the Senior Director of Advanced Analytics and Data Management for Internal Audit at CIBC. In this role, Sahar was responsible for providing insights and analytics on the operations and strategy of the entire bank. Sahar led a team of data analysts who delivered data, insights, and analytics services covering the entire organization, from product and client analytics to technology and HR.

Under Sahar’s leadership, the team was able to automate internal processes and create a central DA Hub which is a one-stop shop for all the produces and services of the DA team. The team also delivered a number of advanced analytics and AI projects where complexity of data or context had previously been hurdles in the delivery of insights. Examples include customer complaints analysis, technology access controls, document reviews.

Prior to their role at CIBC, Sahar was the Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics in the Chief Data Office. In this role, they were responsible for managing and developing BI applications and dashboards to support business decision making across CIBC. Sahar also played a key role in developing the bank’s Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Sahar began their career at CIBC as a Director in Finance where they were responsible for overseeing the bank’s financial reporting.

Sahar Nezami has an MBA in Systems Engineering and Econometrics from York University's Schulich School of Business, a Master of Science in Socio-Economic Systems Engineering from the Institute for Research in Planning and Development, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Software Engineering from Azad University Central Division.
