Upul Wijegunawardena

Upul Wijegunawardena is an experienced banking professional currently serving as the Assistant General Manager of the Electronic Banking Centre at Bank of Ceylon since August 2020. Previous roles include Assistant General Manager and Country Manager/CEO at Bank of Ceylon from January 2017 to July 2017, as well as Chief Manager (Credit) and Senior Manager - Credit. Prior to these positions, Upul worked as Manager of Credit & Retail Banking at Bank of Ceylon (UK) Ltd from 2013 to 2016, and held various roles at Bank of Ceylon from 2002 to 2013, starting as a Relationship Officer. Upul began a career in finance at Shaw Wallace & Hedges Ltd, handling the preparation of monthly accounts and payroll. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an AIB qualification from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
