Alan Smillie

Alan Smillie is a seasoned professional in risk analysis and finance, currently serving as a Manager at the Bank of England since September 2021. Prior to this role, Alan held the position of Senior Risk Analyst at the Bank of England. Alan's experience includes significant tenure as the Head of Capital & Rating Methodology at Nomura from November 2010 to September 2021, and as SVP of Market Risk Analytics at Citi from January 2004 to November 2010. Alan holds a PhD in Quantitative Finance from Imperial College London, an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Oxford, and a BSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Glasgow.
