Ebson Uanguta

Deputy Governor at Bank of Namibia

Mr Uanguta started his career at Namibia Economic Policy Research Unit (NEPRU) as a Research Assistant and Junior Researcher (1996). He joined the Bank of Namibia as an Economist in the Research Department in 2000. He became Senior Economist, Deputy Director for Economic Policy Research Division & Modelling and Forecasting Division, between 2002 and 2006. Between 2007 and 2010 he served as an Advisor in the Executive Director’s office at the International Monetary Fund, Washington D.C., USA. He became the Director of Research in 2011, and in 2012 was appointed as the Deputy Governor. Mr Uanguta has written and co-authored research papers and articles, which have been published in-house and in some regional and international journals.

Ebson has Master of Science in Economics (MSc in Economic Policy Analysis) - Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia (1999); Bachelor of Economics (Bachelor of Economics) – University of Namibia (1997). He attended several executive education programmes, including Senior Executive Fellow, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, USA (2012); Senior Management Programme, University of Stellenbosch, (2005); Project Management Programme, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa (2003).
