Mr. Bangert served as chairman and CEO for CoBiz Financial from 1994 to 2018, where he led the acquisition of two Denver banks with $100 million in assets.
Prior to CoBiz, Mr. Bangert had more than two decades of broad management experience with various financial institutions including banks in Illinois, Connecticut and Texas. He also served as a board member for Prairie Capital, a Chicago-based private equity fund, and GMB Mezzanine Capital, a Minneapolis-based provider of mezzanine financing for middle-market companies.
He is deeply committed to causes focused on improving the lives and health of at-risk women and children. Mr. Bangert was instrumental in the creation of the Biz Bash, a unique annual event that has raised more than $5.5 million for various child-focused nonprofit organizations in Colorado and Arizona. He also previously served as the chair of the National Western Scholarship Trust, board chair of the University of Colorado Hospital Foundation and as chair of the Colorado chapter of CEOs Against Cancer. He has received several awards for his commitment to the fight against cancer including the American Cancer Society CEO of the Year award and the American Cancer Society St. George Award. Mr. Bangert received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
