Edgar Azairwe Rutaagi

Edgar Azairwe Rutaagi has extensive experience in trade finance and banking operations, currently serving as Trade Finance Lead at the Bank of Uganda since April 2012. In this role, Edgar manages the Trade Finance Section, develops departmental strategies, and oversees risk management activities. Previous positions include Principal Banking Officer and Head of the Letters of Credit Unit, where Edgar was responsible for end-to-end transaction processing and client relations. Edgar has also held managerial roles at Standard Chartered Bank, focusing on letters of credit and trade loans, and has a proven track record of process improvement and risk management. Edgar holds multiple certifications in trade finance, a Master's degree in International Trade and Finance, and has completed professional development courses from prestigious institutions, including Harvard Online and the World Bank Institute.
