Abdullah Khan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking industry. Abdullah started their career in 1995 at Westpac, where they held various roles such as Service Manager, Credit Analyst, and Relationship Manager. Abdullah then moved on to become a Dealer in Interest Rate, FX, and Money Market at Westpac's Retail and Private Bank. From 2001 to 2005, they served as a Senior Dealer in Interest Rate Risk Management and Structured Investments for Midsize Corporates at Westpac. Abdullah then transitioned into the Global Capital Markets division at Westpac, where they held roles as a Senior Associate and later as an Associate Director in Structured Derivatives. From 2008 to 2013, they took on the position of Director for Corporate Derivatives in Australia, where they provided expert advice and guidance to corporate and institutional clients across various financial products. From 2013 to 2020, Abdullah held the role of Director for Corporate Derivatives Asia at Westpac Institutional Bank, where they built the firm's Asian Derivative Sales and Solution business and developed thought leadership in risk management. Most recently, since 2020, they have been working at Westpac as the Executive Director and Co-Head of Financial Markets Asia, responsible for implementing an Asia strategy across global product and customer lines, generating revenue, and leading multi-product Financial Markets Solutions teams across Asia. In 2023, Abdullah is scheduled to join First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) as the Managing Director and Head of Global Markets APAC.
Abdullah Khan completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Graduate Diploma in Management from the Australian Institute of Business in 2017. Abdullah also obtained a Certificate of Graduate Management from the same institution in September 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Certificate in Financial Markets from the Securities Institute in 2003. Abdullah Khan also completed a course in the Managed Funds Industry (PS146) from the Securities Institute in 2003. Abdullah obtained additional certifications, including the People Leader Development Program from AGSM @ UNSW Business School in 2019.
