Nick Hobdey has extensive work experience in human resources, holding various leadership roles in different organizations. Nick is currently the Group Human Resources Director at Banks Group since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Member Board of Trustees at St Oswald's Hospice starting in March 2019. Before that, they worked as the Head of HR at Komatsu Mining from July 2020 to July 2021. Nick also served as the Head of HR - Operations at Accord Healthcare from February 2019 to July 2020. Nick has a background in HR management, having held the position of UK Human Resources Director at Falck Safety Services (Global) from April 2014 to February 2019 and Divisional HR Manager at NHS, City Hospitals Sunderland Foundation Trust from June 2007 to March 2014. Nick has also worked as a European HR Advisor at Avery Dennison - Roll Materials, Northern Europe from November 2005 to June 2007, HR Advisor at Northumbrian Water Group from July 2004 to November 2005, Senior HR Officer at Sanofi from December 2002 to June 2004, and Senior HR Officer at Hays Travel from January 2002 to December 2002.
Nick Hobdey began their education at Edinburgh Napier University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Economics in 1999. Nick then went on to attend Northumbria University, where they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from 1999 to 2001. Years later, in 2015, Hobdey enrolled at Durham University Business School and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management in 2018. In 2017, they also attended the Institute of Leadership and Management for a Level 7 Executive Coaching and Mentoring program.

The Banks Group develops land for a variety of uses including mineral extraction, property and renewable and flexible energy generation and storage. It is a family owned, County Durham based business employing over 300 people across the north of England and Scotland. We adopt an approach to our business that we call development with care, which ensures that our developments have a positive long term effect on the environment, the economy and the local communities that host our developments. The Banks Community Fund was established in 1997 to provide support to community groups, voluntary organisations and environmental projects that are located within close proximity of a current or proposed Banks Group development and provide benefit to the local community.
