Matan Avivi

Matan Avivi is currently the Head of the Metabolomics and Biochemistry & Chromatography Units at Bar-Ilan University, where services are provided to both industry and academia in metabolomics, biophysics, and chromatography since July 2013. Additionally, Matan serves as a lecturer and assistant lecturer for various advanced science courses, showcasing expertise in teaching. As a PhD student in biophysics at Prof. Haim Cohen's Lab, Matan focuses on discovering small molecule modulators for Sirtuin proteins and has developed a rapid screening test for Covid-19 and other pathogens. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior Platoon Sergeant in the 202nd Paratrooper Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces from August 2007 to August 2010. Matan holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Biophysics from Bar-Ilan University, obtained in 2017 and 2015, respectively.
