The Bar Standards Board
Saima Hirji currently serves as the Interim Director of Regulatory Operations at The Bar Standards Board, where involvement began in January 2023, alongside a role as Assistant Director of Regulatory Operations. Since July 2019, Saima has been a Council Member and an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee Member at The Law Society. Previous positions include Head of Legislation and Policy and several roles as a lawyer at The Nursing and Midwifery Council from February 2013 to January 2023, as well as External Appeals Panel Chair at the College of Optometrists during the same timeframe. Saima's earlier career includes positions as a Solicitor Advocate at ABV Solicitors and Lewis Nedas & Co., a Lawyer at Fair Trials, and a Trainee Solicitor at BTMK Solicitors. Saima holds an LLB in Law from the University of Southampton and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law. Additional education includes specialized training from ADR ODR International in September 2021.
