Ricardo de la Cruz

Ricardo De La Cruz has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Ricardo recently served as the Director/Head of Information Technology at Barbarian, where they revamped the IT department and implemented a new IT strategy. Ricardo also reallocated resources to strategic tech investments and improved operational workflow for all departments within the company.

In addition to their role at Barbarian, Ricardo has also worked as an Associate Lecturer at Columbia University, where they taught a course on Strategic Advocacy. Ricardo helped master students develop skills and knowledge necessary for initiating technology-related business conversations. Ricardo aimed to prepare them to become influential leaders in their organizations.

Ricardo is a Board Member and Co-Lead Outreach at SIM NY Metro, a professional association for IT leaders. Ricardo also serves as an Advisory Board Member at Mentforlife, an organization that aims to create future leaders through mentorship and collaboration, particularly focusing on first-generation and students of color.

Prior to their current roles, Ricardo worked at Spring Studios, where they held various positions including Director of Information Technology, IT Manager, and System Administrator. Ricardo was responsible for building IT governance, implementing security measures, and maintaining partnerships with reoccurring clients. Ricardo also led the Global Diversity Equity & Inclusion committee.

Before Spring Studios, Ricardo worked at WageWorks as a System Administrator, where they took ownership of technical support needs and network infrastructure management. Ricardo played a key role in achieving Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance for the company.

Ricardo began their career at Frog Design, Inc. as an IT Intern and eventually transitioned into a permanent position as a Desktop Support Analyst. Ricardo demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills and contributed to improved productivity in the New York office.

Ricardo De La Cruz has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology with a specialization in Network Security from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Currently, they are pursuing an Executive Master of Science (MS) degree in Technology Management from Columbia University, expected to be completed in 2023.
