Hugh Townshend

Hugh Townshend is a finance professional with extensive experience in the banking sector, currently serving as Head of Finance for Consumer, Cards & Payments at Barclays since May 2022. Prior to this role, Hugh held various leadership positions at Barclays UK, including Head of Transformation Portfolio and Finance Director for CPII & Ventures. With a strong background in financial management, Hugh has also served as Finance Structural Reform Lead and Head of Private Clients & Legacy Investments Finance at Barclays. Earlier experience includes positions as Head of Finance (EMEA) for Barclays Wealth and Finance Analyst at Barclays Bank. Hugh began their career at Ark Syndicate Management and has also completed internships at Barclays Wealth and Allen & Overy. An alumnus of The University of Edinburgh, Hugh holds a BSc Hons in Biological Sciences, and Hugh completed A/AS Levels at Eton College.
