Mohamed A El-Erian

Dr. El-Erian is a highly respected economist and investor, with considerable experience in the asset management industry and multilateral institutions. He is chief economic advisor at Allianz SE, the corporate parent of PIMCO (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC) where he formerly served as chief executive and co-chief investment officer. As well as serving on several advisory committees and boards, Dr. El-Erian is a regular columnist for Bloomberg Opinion and a contributing editor at the Financial Times. He has also published widely on international economic and financial topics. Prior to joining PIMCO, he was managing director at Salmon Smith Barney in London and spent 15 years at the IMF where he served as deputy director before moving to the private sector and financial services.

Mohamed’s acute knowledge and understanding of international economics and the financial services sector strengthens the Board’s capacity for overseeing the strategic direction and development of the Group.
