Matt Welling

Matt Welling, CFA, is a seasoned professional in institutional investment management with a career spanning nearly two decades. Currently serving as Senior Director at Barings since April 2024, Welling has held significant roles at Axiom Investors as Director and Wasatch Global Investors as Vice President. Previous experience includes an associate position in Global Principal Investments at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where investment focus was on early-stage technology companies, particularly within fintech. Welling's background also features a strong foundation in financial institutions through roles at PIMCO and Citi, along with initial experience as an equity research intern at both BYU Global Financial Advisors and Alta Capital Management. Welling holds an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from The Wharton School and a BS in Business Management with a focus on Finance from Brigham Young University.
