Nick Williams has extensive work experience in the legal field. Starting in 2003, they worked as an Associate at Lovells until 2007. Nick then interned at the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva for two months in 2008. Later that year, they became a Legal Adviser at Save the Children UK until 2009. From 2009 to 2019, they served as Senior Legal Counsel at Amnesty International. In 2019, they worked as a General Counsel at Oxfam on an interim basis and then transitioned to the role of General Counsel at Lumos until 2022. Currently, they are the Head Of Legal at Barnardo's.

Nick Williams received their Bachelor of Arts degree in German and Russian languages and cultures from the University of Leeds in 2001. Nick then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Law at Nottingham Trent University from 2001 to 2002. Nick continued their education at Nottingham Trent University and completed a Legal Practice Course from 2002 to 2003. In 2007, Nick pursued a Master's degree in Human Rights at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), which they completed in 2008.
