Allen W. Lindstrom is the current Chief Financial Officer at Barnes & Noble. Prior to this, they were the CFO at Liberty Travel from January 2002 to December 2007. Allen was a member of the Executive Committee with responsibility for finance activities and led a team of 60 associates in accounting, reporting, planning and analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, risk management, purchasing, tax, payroll, treasury, and audit.

Allen was instrumental in evolving the finance team from back office support to value-added business partners by upgrading people, processes and technologies. Some of their key accomplishments include leading the sale of the company at a 6.8X multiple, initiating the company’s first-ever financial planning and analysis structure, implementing a full suite of Oracle financial applications, and delivering cost reductions by foreign currency hedging, restructuring personnel, outsourcing non-core functions, redesigning health care and 401(k) plans, and revising property and casualty insurance programs. Allen has also redesigned incentive compensation plans, renegotiated supplier terms, and tiered pricing to yield revenue lifts. Recently, they have transitioned the long-standing relationship with external auditors, enhancing the quality of financials while upgrading controls.

Allen W. Lindstrom graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Rutgers University. Allen then went on to obtain their certification as a CPA.
