Nick Salter

Partner at Barnett Waddingham

Nick is a founding partner of Barnett Waddingham, helping to establish the firm in 1989. Throughout his actuarial career, Nick has specialised in advising companies and trustees operating occupational pension schemes; both final salary schemes and money purchase schemes.

Nick has extensive experience in pension scheme matters and has been involved in advising a portfolio of large and medium sized domestic and multinational companies and trustees. He has also acted as an expert in litigation cases (both professional negligence cases and commercial disputes).

He was Senior Partner of the firm from 2012 to 2020 and sits on the firm's Management Board. He is also responsible for the North American liaison through NORACS and served as President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries for 2014-15. He was Master of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries (a Livery Company of the City of London) for the year 2018-19. Nick has presented at numerous professional meetings in the UK and the USA as well as trustee training courses both internal and external.
