Helen George has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and organizations. Helen most recently worked as the Director of Policy at Barnsley College starting in July 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Assistant Director at the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority from November 2020 to July 2022.

Helen also worked at the Department for Education as the Head of NEETs and Traineeships from September 2018 to November 2020. Helen was an Apprenticehip Levy Consultant at The University of Warwick from May 2017 to September 2018. Helen also operated their own consultancy, Helen K Consulting Ltd, as Director from January 2017 to September 2018.

In 2014 to 2015, Helen attended The Commissioning Academy, focusing on Public Sector - Outcomes based commissioning.
