Susan Savell

Susan Savell has extensive experience in leadership roles within educational and youth development organizations. Currently, Susan serves as Co-Director of the US Department of Education Investing in Innovation BARR Projects and as Director of the Spurwink Center for Positive Youth Development at Spurwink | BARR Center since 2011. Prior to these roles, Susan was the Executive Director of Communities for Children and Youth at the Governor's Children's Cabinet in the State of Maine from 1997 to 2011. Additionally, Susan is the owner and singer/songwriter at Heartlight Records since 1986. Susan holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, a Master’s degree in Bible/Biblical Studies from Columbia University, and a Bachelor's degree in Humanities from Scripps College.
