Tahir Usmani

Tahir Usmani, M.Eng, P.Eng., serves as the Mine Technical Services Manager at Barrick Gold Corporation since March 2023, previously holding the same position at Pure Gold Mining. With extensive experience at Glencore Copper, Usmani was the General Manager Technical Services for Kamoto Copper Company, where responsibilities included qualifications as a Qualified Person (QP) for mineral reserve reports and leading various technical studies and mine planning initiatives. Earlier roles included senior positions at Snowden as a Senior Consultant Mining Engineer, and GijimaAst as a Senior Mining Consultant. Usmani began professional training at AKMIDC, contributing a decade of experience in managing and planning diverse mining projects. Education includes a Master of Engineering from the University of Alberta and a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
