Warren Mwewa

Warren Mwewa is a Geotechnical Engineer at Barrick Gold Corporation since July 2021, responsible for ensuring the proper execution of geotechnical advice and design recommendations in open pits and related infrastructures. Previously, Warren held the position of Civil/Geotechnical Engineer at First Quantum Minerals from May 2017 to July 2021, where duties included ground investigation, stability assessments for water dams and tailings storage facilities, and performing TSF audits. Additional experience includes roles as Mine Dispatch Engineer and Mining Engineering Lecturer at Copperstone University. Warren began their career as a Graduate Engineer at Mopani Copper Mines and as an Explosives Assistant Engineer at AECI Mining. Warren holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde and a BEng in Mining Engineering from The Copperbelt University.
