Director Of Data, Assessment And Program Evaluation at BARRINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Ben Ditkowsky has a diverse work experience in the field of education, with a strong focus on data analysis and assessment. Ben started their career as a Teacher at Chicago Public Schools from 1992 to 1998. Ben then worked as a Reading Specialist and Behavior Specialist at Des Moines Public Schools from 1995 to 1997. Ben joined Loyola University Chicago as a Visiting Faculty in 2002, where they taught courses in Psychology and Children with Learning Disabilities. Ben also served as an Adjunct Faculty at National Louis University from 2004 to 2005. Ben worked at Chicago Public Schools again from 2001 to 2003 as a Reading DI Implementation Coordinator, where they coordinated reading instruction in multiple schools. From 2003 to 2005, they served as the Director of Assessment and Research at Wheeling CCSD 21, where they coordinated district and state assessments. Ben then moved to Waukegan School District 60 and held the role of Director of Accountability, Assessment Research and Evaluation from 2005 to 2007, responsible for analyzing district and state-wide assessments. Ben continued to work in similar roles, being the Director of Assessment, Intervention and Research at Lincolnwood School District 74 from 2007 to 2013. Currently, Ben is the Director of Data, Assessment and Program Evaluation at Barrington Public Schools since 2013.

Ben Ditkowsky received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa in 1991. Ben then pursued a Master of Science in Education in Special Education at Drake University, which they completed from 1995 to 1997. In 1998, Ben began their PhD in Special Education at the University of Oregon and successfully completed it in 2002. During this time, from 1998 to 2001, they also served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon. Additionally, in 2001, Ben obtained an Administrative Certification in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Concordia University Chicago.
