Mary Romano is the current Assistant Managing Editor at Barron's. Prior to that, they spent 13 years at Bloomberg, where they served as an Editor on the Investing Team, Legal Team, and Arts & Culture Team.

Romano has a wealth of experience in editing breaking news and complex features. On the Investing Team, they covered the $500 billion endowment sector, pensions, asset managers, and top-tier private equity and hedge funds. Mary also established the endowments beat from scratch and motivated their team of reporters to break news and identify scoops.

On the Legal Team, Romano edited breaking news and features on national legal matters related to the financial sector. Mary covered all areas of business law, including financial crimes, state attorney general investigations, bankruptcies, patents, and product liability cases.

As Editor & Team Leader of Arts & Culture, Romano managed a team of full-time staffers and freelancers, covering theater, visual arts, restaurants, dance, music, opera, film, books, and philanthropy. Mary also edited interviews with arts leaders and celebrities, and covered the Tony Awards from the pressroom for 10 years.
