Vp, Business Improvement Programs at Barry Callebaut Group

Tom Coumans has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Tom began their career as a Consultant at Dolmen in 1997 before moving on to PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting in 2000 and IBM in 1999, where they held the position of Senior Consultant. In 2003, they joined Cernum as a Senior Consultant before transitioning to Deloitte in 2006 as a Senior Manager, where they worked until 2009.

Tom then joined Barry Callebaut Group in 2009 and held several roles within the company. Tom served as the Corporate IM Manager from 2009 to 2013, where they were responsible for managing corporate information management. Tom subsequently became the Global Integration Manager from 2013 to 2014, overseeing the integration of Barry Callebaut's cocoa division with Petra cocoa division. As a Program Director from 2014 to 2016, Tom led a strategic change program for the global cocoa division, impacting various aspects of the organization.

In 2017, Tom took on the role of Sustainability Program Director at Barry Callebaut, focusing on the implementation of the company's sustainability strategy, Forever Chocolate. Tom later became the Program Director for Business Optimization from 2018 to 2021, leading business improvement programs. Currently, Tom is the VP of Business Improvement Programs at Barry Callebaut Group, a position they have held since January 2021.

Tom Coumans attended Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management from 2000 to 2001, where they obtained a DES degree in Gestion Intégrée. Tom later attended the University of Antwerp, earning a Licentiaat degree in Applied Economics.
