John D. Murray

Provost at Barry University

John D. Murray has served as provost at Barry University since June 2016. Prior to that, they were dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University from July 2010 to June 2016. From August 1993 to June 2010, they were chair of the Department of Psychology at Georgia Southern University.

Murray received their bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Florida in 1977. John earned their master's degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from Georgia State University in 1980 and 1983, respectively.

John D. Murray's educational career began with a BA in Psychology from Purdue University. John then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. John's research focus is in the field of cognitive psychology and psycholinguistics, and they are currently a professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

John D. Murray reports to Michael S. Allen, President. They are on a team with Susan Rosenthal - VP, Business & Finance, Jennifer Boyd-Pugh - VP, University Administration, and Julie Isha - VP, Enrollment & Marketing.
