Naija Speight

Naija Speight is an experienced librarian with a diverse background in library services. Currently serving as the Technology and Grants Librarian at Barton College since August 2023, Naija teaches students about rare books and citation practices, manages library technology issues, and oversees event planning. Additionally, Naija holds a Primary Sources Teaching Fellowship with UNC University Libraries, focusing on the development of lesson plans and engagement with primary source materials. Previous roles include Adult Services Librarian at Wilson County Public Library, where Naija organized monthly programs and promoted library services, and various positions at Barton College, including Student Library Assistant and Care Call Assistant. Naija's academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Library Science from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Barton College.
