Orubba Almansouri is an experienced educator and researcher with a focus on immigration and education. Currently serving as a Project Researcher for the Initiative on Immigration and Education at The City University of New York, Orubba aims to empower immigrant communities by developing resources that address educational inequalities. Additional roles include facilitating workshops for families and communities at the Center for Supportive Schools and educating immigrant students and English language learners within the NYC Department of Education. Orubba also mentors underrepresented CUNY undergraduates interested in pursuing doctoral studies and has held various positions that emphasize community engagement and leadership development. Academic credentials include a PhD in Education from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, an MA in Near Eastern Studies from New York University, and a BA in English Literature and History with a focus on Arabic Language and Literature from the Division of the Humanities, City College of New York.
