André Matta

Member of the Supervisory Board at BASF

André Matta was born in Altleiningen, Germany, in 1970. Between 1986 and 1990 he trained as a machinist and joined BASF in 1991 as a production employee. From 1995 to 1998, he retrained as a chemical technician. Matta joined the Works Council of BASF SE in 2005. He has been a full-time member of the Works Council since 2011 and a member of the BASF Works Council Europe since 2013. Furthermore, Matta exercises different functions within the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industries Union (IG BCE): He chairs the district management of IG BCE in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and he is a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland branch, of the wage commission Rhineland-Palatinate and of the advisory commission.

Matta has been a member of the BASF Supervisory Board since April 29, 2022, and his mandate terminates upon conclusion of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2024.
